About

David provides executive coaching and mentoring to address a wide range of issues relating to clients’ professional lives. He provides life coaching support for the other worries that life throws our way.

David’s style is relaxed, friendly and conversational, but he is prepared to challenge assumptions and query actions where appropriate. He also uses a variety of coaching tools and insights gained from the world of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). His approach is centred on solution-focused and positive psychological principles based upon a personal belief that few problems are insurmountable. David’s preferred working method is through face-to-face conversation, but he is also happy to coach by telephone or video link.

David is married and has two grown-up children. He and his wife live in Gosport Hampshire.

After graduating from Durham University, David spent eight years in Lloyd’s insurance market as a broker and latterly as an underwriter. At the age of 30, he changed his career to become a secondary geography teacher in the independent sector. For the next 22 years, he taught geography, coached rowing and worked as a boarding housemaster.

David recently retired from a senior lecturer role at the University of Chichester where he worked on several teacher training programmes. He now leads CPD in education and provides geography tuition. The executive coaching fits well with David’s work in education, but he does not restrict his coaching to the education sector.

David is a keen amateur artist working in a variety of media.
